Happy Holidays 2010

All the planning, shopping, decorating, eating, partying, singing and threatening small children to be good for Santa for Christmas are in the final days! Consider this our Christmas card as we look back at the highlights from this last year...

New Additions. Our sweet baby boy Anderson entered the world. He drools, smiles, rolls around and puts up with us dragging him around on our schedule. We went from a couple having one child to really becoming a family when he arrived in July.

Erik, Katie and Anna welcomed Bennett and Charles to our family as well. Katie did an awesome job growing these two little guys until they were full term. We look forward to family gatherings with three young boys shooting BB guns and wrestling with each other.

Eliza starting preschool. It was a slow start, but now we are in a great routine and she loves everything about school.

Giving back to others. Through all the down economic times lately we are so fortunate to have a home, jobs and so many other nice things. We adopted a child through Eliza's school and bought her a clothes and a book. After the kids sang at her Christmas program, the families put together blankets for the City Light Women and Children's Shelter.

The McCabes and our family pick a charity each year at Christmas to donate to instead of giving gifts to each other. This year, Aunt Julie came up with the great idea to have Eliza pick out toys for the Toys For Tots program. It meant so much to teach Eliza the concept of giving back to other children who are not as fortunate as we are.

Meeting goals. 6 point bull elk with a bow after several years of coming home empty handed. This is a huge accomplishment for a very dedicated hunter. Please let me know if you want to come over for an Elk dinner. It is delicious.

Good health. In the last 7 years I have learned how grateful I am for everyone's good health. Our family has had several major negative health events and I couldn't be more thrilled in how well we are doing now. Never take for granted the good health you are given and the opportunities to take part in preventative health care.
Lucas and the kids are very healthy. I was blessed to end up with a healthy pregnancy and uncomplicated delivery this year and a good MS status on my MRI in November. My brother Erik also had a great MRI this December with no changes since his brain tumor surgery 7 years ago. Cousin Molly is a healthy young woman in remission since her Leukemia diagnosis 2 years ago. Not all of our friends and family are so lucky.

Cheers to 2011 and all the good things to come...

Thank-you for your wonderful card. I really enjoyed reading about the activities of your family. I admire how you are teaching your children to be thoughtful and generous to those less fortunate than you. You have a beautiful family and I wish you a very merry Christmas and continued good health in 2011.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Anderson
