3's

We certainly have a lot to be happy about around here! Anderson is at the sweet age of 3 months, Eliza at the challenging 3 years and I just happen to be 33 as well!
Eliza has been at the Eagle Montessori Preschool for a month now. It has been a bit challenging on the social end of things. When I say this kid is slow to warm to new things I mean s...l...o...w. She is just now starting to get a mat out and sit with everyone at circle time instead of standing in the back. One of the first days she refused to take her coat off and wore her rain jacket the entire 3 hours of school. She stays very close to the teacher's side and just watches the kids on the playground. It is tough as a parent to see you child stand in the background so much. I was really shy as a young child too and I hate to see her go through the same feelings and emotions I did. On a positive note she is eager to go to school and is so proud of the work she is doing. Maybe by the end of the year she will be doing everything like the other kids. I promise this is the only time I want her to follow what everyone else is doing.
Our happy little man is doing very well. He is a smiling, laughing and sweet little snuggler. Maybe I think he is so sweet because he just smiles at me and doesn't talk back like a 3 year old I know?? We moved him to his crib in his room and he has been sleeping 7+ hrs. at a time. I love him even more.

One of the biggest events in our household recently was having Lucas gone on his Elk bow hunting trip for 10 days. You better believe it was tough to take care of two small children and two dogs on my own for that long. Thank goodness he did get a nice big 6 point Elk to fill up our freezer with. This is the biggest Elk he has gotten and to do it with a bow is even more magical in his eyes. We are all so proud of him and are thrilled that we can now move onto the bird hunting season (can you feel the love?).
As for me, I am happy to report the post pregnancy follow up appointment went well with my neurologist. As long as I am resting, eating and exercising well she will support me in breastfeeding through the first year. I am at high risk for having attacks right now and I will have a MRI in November to see how well I am doing. My symptoms are minor at this point and hopefully they stay that way.

I do have to leave the post with a video capturing one of the best sounds a person can hear...the first giggles of new baby. Love it.

Anderson has such a manly face!!

I'll be sending good thoughts to Eliza to warm up at school. We are VERY anxious to start Parkcenter Montessori. But I think my son has the exact opposite problem, and my challenge is teaching him when it's appropriate to be social as opposed to when he needs to hold back. (But I have that problem too. Darn genetics!!)
